Plantation de vanille

Description: Vanilla cultivation was introduced to Lifou in 1860 by the English pastor, Samuel McFarlane, who had some plants from Madagascar on his boat. Today, over 120 planters produce 100% natural vanilla, which has become Lifou's brown gold. Several plantations reveal their secrets to visitors, like that of Fabrice Bole, located in magnificent Mucaweng Forest.
